Delete your data

What Rotino keeps, where it is kept, and how to delete each part. There is no account to close.

On your device

Your creatures (the pictures, their names and descriptions) and your gallery are stored only on your device and in your own device backups. We never receive them, so only you can delete them:

  1. Open Rotino.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Tap Delete my data. This removes all your creatures and app data from your device.

You can also delete a single creature from your gallery, or delete the app, which removes everything it stored on your device. Copies in your own device backups are removed as those backups are replaced.

With us

We keep only two kinds of data on our servers (Cloudflare, run by The Apptor):

  • Feedback on creatures. If you answered Do you like this one?, we keep the two words you typed, the creature's name and one-line description, your answer and any comment, for 12 months. The picture is never stored. It is not linked to you or your device, so email us the creature's name and the date you sent it, and we will find and remove it.
  • Support messages. Your email address, name if given, topic, message and any app details you included, kept for up to 24 months. Email us from the address you wrote from and we will delete them.

To ask for deletion, email contact@theapptor.com, or use the support form with the topic Other. We confirm by email when it is done.

Things we do not keep

  • Your words. The two words you type are sent through our server to Google Gemini to make each creature. Our server holds them in memory only while your request is handled and does not log or store them. To stop sending them, withdraw your permission for Google Gemini in the app's Settings.
  • Your pictures. Each picture is passed straight to your device. We do not keep a copy.

Usage analytics and crash reports

These are collected by Google Firebase with a random app instance ID, not your name or email, and are kept under Google's Firebase retention settings. Deleting the app stops collection.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Apple. Your purchase status is kept by RevenueCat under an anonymous ID for as long as it is needed to provide your subscription and to meet tax and accounting rules. To cancel a subscription, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad.
