Terms of Use
The rules for using Rotino and its Premium subscription.
Effective 9 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Rotino app (“Rotino” or “the app”), made by The Apptor (“we” or “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What Rotino is
Rotino is an entertainment app. You type two short words or phrases, and the app uses artificial intelligence to fuse them into one absurd creature: a picture, a made-up Italian name and a one-line description. Your creatures are kept in a gallery on your device.
3. AI results
Creatures are made by AI
- Each creature is made by an AI service (Google Gemini). Results can be imperfect, unexpected or not what you had in mind, and a creation may occasionally fail or be refused by a safety filter.
- Names and descriptions are made up for fun. They are not facts, and the Italian may not always be correct.
- Because results are made by AI, similar pictures may be made for other people, and we cannot promise that a creature is unique.
4. Free use and Premium
The app is free to download. Free users get one free creation each day.
Premium is an optional subscription, offered as a weekly plan and a yearly plan. Both renew automatically. The price, the length of the plan and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a plan includes a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays on until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone or iPad, use Restore purchases in the app with the same Apple ID.
We may change what Premium includes or what it costs. A price change for an existing subscription is notified by Apple, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Apple's terms
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app and your purchases. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it.
6. What you may type
Please do not use the app to make creatures from words that:
- are illegal, or encourage harm or illegal activity;
- are hateful, harassing or threatening towards anyone;
- are sexual or sexually suggestive;
- name or depict real people;
- name brands, logos or products, or characters and other material that belong to someone else, or otherwise infringe anyone's rights.
Requests like these may be refused, and we may limit or stop access for anyone who misuses the app.
7. Using the app fairly
Please do not:
- use automated tools to make creatures, or try to get around the free daily limit or rate limits;
- reverse engineer, interfere with or overload the app or our servers, except where the law allows it;
- use the app to build a competing service or a collection of results;
- use the app to break any law.
8. Your creatures
You may use the creatures you make for your own personal use, and share them with friends and on social media. You are responsible for the words you type and for how you share what you make. Please do not present a creature as the work or product of a real person or company, and do not use creatures in a way that breaks these terms or the law.
9. Intellectual property
The app, its design, text, graphics and software belong to The Apptor or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the app without owing you anything.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what the app sends, to whom and why, including how your two words are sent to Google Gemini after you agree.
11. Our responsibility to you
We work to keep the app working well, but we provide it “as is”, without any warranty, and cannot promise it will always be available, free of errors or produce any particular result.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using the app or sharing what you make with it, and our total responsibility to you for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep your legal rights; these terms do not take them away.
12. Changes
We may update the app and these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will post the new terms here with a new effective date. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
13. Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it; remember to cancel any subscription in your Apple ID settings, because deleting the app does not cancel it. Deleting the app also deletes your gallery, so save or share any creatures you want to keep first.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
15. Contact
