Quick answers

How does Rotino work?

Type two short words or phrases, for example orange and cloud, and tap create. Rotino fuses them into one creature, with a picture, a made-up Italian name and a one-line description.

Before your first creation the app asks for your permission to send your two words to Google Gemini, the AI service that makes the picture and the name. Your words go through our server to Gemini and the result comes back to your device. We do not keep your words. See the privacy policy for details.

What can I type?

Almost any two things: animals, food, objects, places, weather, feelings. Short, simple words tend to work best.

Please do not ask for real people, brands, characters that belong to someone else, or anything illegal, hateful or sexual. Requests like these may be refused. See the terms of use.

A creation failed or looks odd. What can I do?

Creatures are made by AI, so results can be unexpected, and now and then one does not work at all. Try again, or try different words. If a request is blocked, it may have been caught by the safety filter; try something else.

If you see the same problem again and again, tell us the two words you typed and roughly when.

How does the free daily creation work?

Without a subscription you get one free creation each day. When you have used it, a new one is available the next day. If you want to make more, you can subscribe to Premium, weekly or yearly, in the app. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Rotino and tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date and you will not be charged again. Premium stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, choose the Rotino purchase and select Request a refund. Apple decides on refund requests.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you subscribed with. Then open Rotino and tap Restore purchases. There is no account to sign in to; your subscription is linked to your Apple ID.

Where are my creatures saved?

Only on your device, in the app's gallery (and in your own device backups). We do not keep a copy. Deleting a creature in the app removes it from your device, and deleting the app removes them all, so share or save any you want to keep first.

Can I share my creatures?

Yes. You can use the creatures you make for yourself and share them with friends and on social media. The terms of use explain the details.

How do I stop sending my words to Google Gemini?

Open the app's Settings and withdraw your permission for Google Gemini. New creations then stop working, because each one is made by Gemini. Your gallery stays on your device, and you can give permission again at any time.

How do I turn off notifications?

The daily reminder only appears if you set one, and you can turn it off in the app's Settings. If you are not subscribed and you allowed notifications, the app may also show Tips and offers notifications, which you can switch off in the app's Settings. You can also turn off all notifications for Rotino in your iPhone or iPad's Settings › Notifications.

How do I delete my data?

Your creatures are only on your device. In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my data, or delete single creatures from your gallery. Deleting the app also removes them.

If you sent us feedback on a creature or a support message, ask us to delete it using the form below or by emailing contact@theapptor.com. See Delete your data.

Send us a message

The app has the same form in its Settings. Sending from there can include your app version, which helps us fix problems faster.

Rotino is a for-fun entertainment app: it uses AI (Google Gemini) to invent fictional 'Italian Brainrot' creatures from the two things you type. Creations are imaginative mashups meant for laughs and sharing, not real people, brands or facts. Published by The Apptor.
